What Is MIO?
HOW WE GOT STARTED
In March 2000, several Oklahoma food manufacturers began meeting to discuss ways in which they could collectively work together to increase sales of their products. The group embraced the goal of pooling resources to create a substantial marketing campaign. They realized the greater the number of Made In Oklahoma products, the greater the impact, and the greater the impact, the greater the sales. As a result the Made In Oklahoma Coalition was formed.
To promote brand awareness and consumer loyalty for Oklahoma food and agricultural products through collective marketing for the purpose of increasing sales, maintaining business retention and expanding Oklahoma's food processing sector.
MIO Coalition membership is exclusive to Oklahoma food and agricultural producers, processors and manufacturers who process, produce and/or distribute a portion of their product in Oklahoma. In addition, MIO members must be actively marketing their food products to retail grocers and food service establishments. With minimum yearly dues, MIO members receive a maximum amount of positive press and professional marketing services designed to create loyalty among Oklahoma consumers. MIO companies are included in several promotions throughout the year including radio, television, print advertisement, in-store promotions and much more.
